How to Measure:

The first step is to decide which type of installation best fits your needs. You may opt to place your blind inside or outside the window frame. Please refer to the image:

Measuring Inside the Frame:

Should you choose to install your blinds inside the window frame, make sure there are no obstacles that will obstruct the slide of the blind; some of these possible obstructions may be alarm sensors, handles, locks, etc. You also need to make sure the blinds will not be in the way of the window opening or closing.

When you begin to measure, verify the depth of the frame, for if the depth is very small, it will not be able to adequately support the installation brackets; we recommend a minimum depth of 2'' . If the depth is smaller than 2'', you should opt for installing outside of the frame.

Next you will measure the width; measurements should be taken at the top, in the middle and at the bottom of the frame. (The smallest of these measurements should be considered the width)

When measuring the height, we should measure the right side, the center and the left side of the frame. In this case, however, the measurement to be considered as the height will depend on the style of blinds selected. For example, for the double rollers we will use the smallest measurement, and for the roller blinds, we will take the largest.

We recommend measuring twice to ensure there are no mistakes. Do not make any deductions from the measurements, as we will make the necessary adjustments to ensure your blind fits properly.

Note: The fabric size is smaller than the total width of the blind. If you wish to completely block light or provide for total privacy, we recommend you opt for outside installation of the blind, adding 4'' extra on each side of the window.

Measuring Outside the Frame:

Measure the window width and add 2.5 to 4 inches on each side. (The larger the margin added, the better you will block the light.)

For the height you need to first determine where the casing or roll of the blind will go; we recommend placing the casing 2.5 to 3.5 inches above the window. In the case of blinds with casing (such as with double rollers), it should be placed a minimum of 3.5 inches above the window.

Next, you should measure from the suggested placing of roll or casing to 2 to 4 inches below the window to ensure light is blocked and privacy is guaranteed.

If your window has an interior ledge, as shown in the image, you will probably want the blind counterweight to rest over the ledge. If this is the case, you should measure precisely from the suggested position for the casing to the ledge.
